Versailles Retrospective

Last March, Jacob and I took my mother to Paris to celebrate her earning her Associates Degree and certification as a Library Assistant. Finishing a college degree has been a lifelong goal of hers. So was seeing Paris. I have known her Paris dream since I was a small child and it fueled my interest in all things French.

When Jacob and I visit Paris, we can’t help but to take the train out to Versailles. It is not for the touristy factor. Gild, gild, everywhere in the main palace and you only need to see it once in this life. Now, the grounds and the trianons capture our fancy time and again.

During our first visit, we had our gouter at Le Petite Venise (I had chocolate cake. Jacob had tarte tatin.). With mom, we planned on having lunch there and it did not disappoint. After a light and fulfilling meal, we captured a few shots nearby and moved on to an afternoon walk.
